Raw cacao beans are the seeds of the cacao tree and are the natural starting point for chocolate. Traditionally valued as both a food and botanical, cacao has a rich, distinctly bitter flavor and naturally contains minerals, polyphenols, theobromine, and smaller amounts of caffeine.
