A smooth, slightly bitter bark traditionally prepared as a tea, tincture, or decoction. Cramp bark has been used in Native American and European herbal traditions for its calming and muscle-relaxing properties.
Traditionally, cramp bark has been valued for supporting women’s health—helping to ease menstrual and uterine discomfort. It is also used as a general antispasmodic herb to soothe muscle tension, cramps, and occasional back discomfort.
Precautions: Not recommended during pregnancy without practitioner guidance. May interact with blood-thinning medications. Use with care in individuals with known sensitivities to viburnum species.
